In this edition, municipal election candidate Zach Hatton explains why he is running, what he hopes to achieve during his campaign and the emerging issues he sees as being dominant as the campaign unfolds. Zach examines the role of social media in his campaign, how he will reach young voters and how he will respond to fake news should it emerge on the campaign trail. May 1st was the opening day of the campaign; Election Day is October 22. Online voting starts on October 9. There are five electoral districts or wards in Peterborough; each ward votes for two councilors. All five wards vote for mayor. The 10 councilors and the mayor serve for a term of 4 years.
